Acrylic Texture Mediums
As acrylics are a very flexible painting medium,
they can be applied directly from the tube and perform very much like oils,
or used in conjunction with other materials to create a variation of texture and surfaces.
There are many acrylic texture mediums and gels available directly from the shop,
but with a bit of imagination you can create textures using products such as salt, sand, napkins and tissue paper.

We have written about some of the acrylic texture mediums which should be available from most art shops.

Whether the artist is incorporating well-known texture mediums to the painting,
or testing out new and unusual materials,
