Texture Gallery - Using Texture Paste

This texture was created with Acrylic Texture Paste, 2 different acrylic colours, white Acrylic gesso primer and a sheet of acrylic paper.

Texture in brown

Detailed close-up

The Acrylic Texture Paste was first applied to a primed sheet acrylic paper using a triangular shaped artist palette knife. The paste was then allowed to dry for several hours to ensure the texture was completely dry.

Next, a thick layer of Phthalo Blue acrylic paint was painted on top, covering the whole surface.

After the blue paint was dry, a wash of Yellow Ochre was applied on top with a large brush.

Just before the layer of yellow paint was dry, the surface was lightly blotted with tissue paper to remove any excess paint.

Artist Notes:
The acrylic texture paste is very flexible and different types of palette knifes can be used to create a variation of effects and patterns.
