Texture Gallery - Mixed Techniques

This texture was created with Acrylic gesso, Crepe paper, one acrylic colour, and a sheet of acrylic paper.

White crepe paper

Detailed close-up

First, a two thick layers of Acrylic Gesso was applied to a sheet of acrylic paper.

Next, small pieces of ripped crepe paper were collaged on to the surface with several layers of gesso primer acting as an adhesive.
When all the layers of crepe paper was collaged on top of each other, the whole texture was covered with gesso.

When the collaged was dry, a wash of Phthalo blue was painted over the surface and left to dry.

Artist Notes:
Crepe paper is usually available from the art suppliers in many different colours which can be used to create different colour tones and variations in the under-laying collage.
