First, a thick layer of acrylic gesso was applied to a sheet of acrylic paper.
While the gesso was still wet, pencil shavings were spread on top and lightly pressed into the gesso.
When the gesso was dry, several layers of more gesso mixed with plenty of water were applied on top of the texture and left to dry.
(drying time depending on room temperature)
A thick layer of Phtaloe Blue acrylic paint was then applied, covering the whole surface.
At last, some Light Blue was applied with a dry brush, just touching the "top" of the texture.
Artist Notes:
The layers of gesso and paint need to be completely dry before the next layer can be applied!
A piece of cardboard or a palette knife can be used to push the pencil shavings deeper into the modeling paste.
