Texture Gallery - Using Metallic Fabric Net

This texture was created with Modeling Paste, a Metallic fabric net, green acrylic colour and a sheet of acrylic paper.

Metallic fabric net

Detailed close-up

First, a thick layer of Modeling Paste was applied to a sheet of acrylic paper with a Palette Knife.

While the modeling paste was still wet, a piece of metallic fabric net was applied on top and lightly pressed into the Modeling paste to create an imprint.

When the modeling paste was semi-dry, the fabric net was removed and the modeling paste was left to dry for an hour. (drying time depending on room temperature)

A wash of Phthalo Green was then applied on top, covering the whole surface.

Artist Notes:
The fabric net should be a bit bigger than the actual texture for easy removal of the fabric.

A piece of cardboard can be used to push the fabric net deeper into the modeling paste, but will flatten the texture if pressed too hard.
