Texture Gallery - Using dry paintbrush

This texture was created using red, green and yellow acrylic paint, white acrylic gesso primer, a large brush and a sheet of acrylic paper.

Imprint on tissue paper

Detailed close-up

First, a thick layer of Acrylic Gesso was applied to a sheet of acrylic paper and allowed to dry.

Next, a thick layer of Green and yellow acrylic paint was painted over the gesso, using a large dry brush.

In order to create the textures, the brush was pressed several times in the wet paint, creating a variation of brush marks.

After the texture was dry, a wash of Cadmium Red acrylic paint was applied and any excess paint was removed with tissue paper when the paint was semi-dry.

Artist Notes:
If even more texture was desired, tissue paper could first have been collaged onto the sufrace with gesso.
