Texture Gallery - Using Paint & Tissue paper

This texture was created using three different acrylic colours, white acrylic gesso primer, tissue paper and a sheet of acrylic paper.

Imprint on tissue paper

Detailed close-up

First, a thick layer of Acrylic Gesso was applied to a sheet of acrylic paper and allowed to dry.

Next, a thick layer of Burnt Sienna acrylic paint was painted over the gesso, covering the whole surface.

When the Burnt Sienna was dry, two different colours, a light blue and a darker blue, was mixed on an artist palette with a palette knife.

A sheet of tissue paper was then dipped into the two blue colours (seperatly) and lightly pressed against the painting to create imprints in selected areas.

Artist Notes:
If more texture was desired, tissue paper could also have been used to apply the first layer of paint.
