Texture Mediums: Acrylic Texture Gels

black lava Acrylic Texture Gels are used by artists to add unique textural and impasto effects to paintings.

The gels can be used alone or be mixed with acrylics or other paint mediums.

They can be diluted and thinned with water if necessary and also used for grounds and preparing surfaces.

Texture Gels can be applied with a palette knife, paint brush or sponge, be mixed with acrylic paint or applied over or under colour layers.

When mixed with acrylics, the gels produce a variety of unique textural and three-dimensional effects and usually have incorporate elements such as black lava, sand, marble dust, beads and crystal flakes, each representing different qualities and materials.

They are water resistant and can be applied to most non-oily surfaces such as paper, canvas or wood.
